Artist Statement:

Prospect Park is a lush oasis for wildlife. It has become home to not only native species of birds but also has given refuge to foreign ones, much like Brooklyn itself has with its melting pot of different immigrant communities.
This watercolor painting depicts a flock of green Monk Parakeets socializing with a two bright red Cardinals as a couple of birdwatchers observe quietly with binoculars in hand.
