Artist Statement:

As a Brooklyn native, I’m drawn toward capturing change, the disappearing markers of local history. My goal is to combine observation and commentary, and for my art to engage the viewers senses. Most often, I create glazed ceramic tile paintings. I enjoy the tactile quality of tile, the rhythm imposed on an artwork by dividing it into units, and the challenges of working with an unpredictable medium. These pieces tend to be heavy and fragile, but that’s part of the challenge. I also paint and draw and make multi-dimensional pieces using found and created objects.
